HOW IT WORKS
DEVELOPING NATION PHYSICIAN
-
Local physicians and Telederm Outreach form a partnership to bring dermatology access to patients.
-
Local physicians then register on the Referring Physician portal through the teledermatology platform provided through our strategic alliance with ConsultDerm.
VOLUNTEERING DERMATOLOGIST
-
Canada and US dermatologists sign up to volunteer with Telederm Outreach.
-
Volunteering dermatologists register with the teledermatology platform provided through our strategic alliance with ConsultDerm.
COLLABORATION & EXCHANGE
-
Local physicians may encounter a dermatology case for which they need assistance generating a diagnosis and treatment recommendation. They take a picture of the manifestation, upload the file onto the ConsultDerm platform, and wait up to two days for a volunteering dermatologist’s response.
-
Volunteering dermatologists log on to the teledermatology platform and select outstanding cases to tackle. They then remotely provide a diagnosis and treatment recommendation based on the local catalog of medication.
-
Local physicians then get a notification and log on to receive the volunteering dermatologist’s advice, with which they can formulate a relevant, culturally competent plan of action.
-
When the patient comes in for a follow up, the local physician provides a diagnosis and treatment.
WORKFLOW
Telederm Outreach is responsible for all aspects in red font. We recruit e-volunteering dermatologists from various stakeholder groups. In finding our patient bases, we first identify patient populations at highest risk. We then recruit, train, and visit referring GPs in low-resourced areas of developing nations via local efforts and global partners.
